Here’s what a former student had to say: “The Pathway Program at OHLA s an awesome opportunity for people who want to apply for university. First they have many options of colleges and universities. Second students don’t have to take the TOEFL or SAT to apply. Third, they assist you in the process in a very efficient way, forth the students just have to complete the Advanced 2 Level and then they are accepted directly into universities that work with OHLA. The most important thing is that their English Program is amazing, you meet students from all over the world. And now I will begin my new stage in my life and I will start my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at FIU.” See video of Leticia A, Brazil
Two of the universities represented, Florida International University and University of Central Florida, are located in Florida, which makes either of these options an easy transition for International students who are studying at either the OHLA Miami Campus or the OHLA Orlando Campus. A representative from the Universities recently came into both the OHLA Miami Campus and OHLA Orlando Campus to discuss each university.
Additional Universities partnered with OHLA were in attendance during the presentation, universities in the likes of Auburn University, Louisiana State University, University of Kansas, University of South Carolina, University of Illinois at Chicago, Adelphi and American University had the opportunity to discuss with OHLA students the different academic opportunities for bachelors and master degree programs.

Join OHLA an award winning Language School for 6 consecutive year as Best Language School in Miami, Florida.
One of the most discussed topics when studying abroad is the living situation. OHLA offers a wide range of accommodation options, however, the most debated among them is homestay with a local family. Homestays can be a hugely rewarding experience, as it presents an unparalleled opportunity for an authentic cultural exchange. Living with your host family will enable you to practice English with native speakers in a comfortable setting. Additionally, your adopted family will help meeting new people and exploring the city a less stressful task.
The goal for every host family placement is a mutually rewarding and educational exchange. Therefore, sufficient preparation and orientation are imperative to help ensure a successful interchange for all parties. All OHLA host families are thoroughly screened and given training on becoming a host parent. Such training includes:
- Information on student’s background (family, school, customs, and religion)
- The academic program in which the student is enrolled in
- Handbook on potential conflicts and ways to overcome any problems
- How to be a good host family and how to help your exchange student succeed
For further information on host families please contact our Homestay Director, Margie Acero at: firstname.lastname@example.org

- Be polite, greet the officer with a smile and say “good morning.” (or good afternoon)
- Give brief and to-the-point answers.
